I have 3... yes THREE... cats and 1 dog. I know, I know, I know... you're thinking 'why on earth'...
Kitty #1 - Milo
Milo came to us as an abused kitty, where someone damaged his tail when he was a kitten. A neighbor, who knew I was the home that fed strays, came and said there was a little kitten who kept hiding on her porch and crying like he was in pain. Without a shadow of doubt, I brought him into my home with my then 1-year old kiddo. He quickly healed and became our forever cat, Milo. Favorite place to sit, my lap. Favorite place to sleep, my kiddo's head. Like he's sitting on an egg waiting for it to hatch.
Kitty #2 - Lou (Lou Malnati... yes, after the pizza)
Louie came to us when he was 4 weeks old. A colleague brought us a kitten to our housewarming party. As I opened the door to greet her, she handed my then 6-year old kiddo a kitten. Note to those attending housewarming parties... bring wine... not pets...wine! My kiddo was over-the-moon in love from day one. Our little Louie grew into a 22 pound cat. It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he eats pizza. Nothing. Favorite place to sit, my kiddo's pillow. Favorite place to sleep, my kiddo's head. He competes with Milo to get there first. If he isn't the first there, because let's face it - he's a little on the slow side being plump and all, then he will settle for my kiddo's chest.
Kitty #3 - Sammy
When my mother's illness progressed significantly and she moved into my house, her sweet-as-pie cat Sammy came in tow. When she moved into hospice several years later, Sammy stayed... no questions asked. He loves every single animal you bring his direction. Favorite place to sit, any lap that even thought of walking into the house. Favorite place to sleep, anywhere near our doggie, Collins.
Doggie - Collins
Named by my kiddo, she was a gift to him for his 7th birthday. Best.gift.ever. Sweetest pup. Cutest pup. Most loving pup. Favorite place to sit, anywhere near me. Favorite place to sleep, on top of any of my kiddo's stuffed animals.
While I certainly don't want any more furry family members, we certainly love ours to pieces. And they are frequently subjects in front of the camera.
